We went to the market last week and I picked up a few things. The gauze, though, is from the drug store. It's still stash! It's to cover plastic eggs to make temari eggs.

On the Way to Tuacarembo
The first weekend of March we went to the Gaucho Festival in Tuacarembo. When we stopped for doggie break at a gas station, this group of motorcyclists stopped too. They're from Brazil but could fit in in their excess at any motorcycle rally in the US...

Still Green
I am still adding green to my purple pirouette, but I am almost done with the green. Once I am, there's really very little to do.

Dragon More Petals
I am still working on the first page of Naptime Dragon, the stitchalong with Kustom Krafts. Slowly but surely, I'm working to the far edge of the page before working down more. I like the pinks on the light green. It's pretty.

Last Backstage Pictures - 28 February - Part 3 - Carnaval
One last set of backstage photos from last month. The guys were surprised to get their pictures taken because most people want the dressed up (or undressed up) girls.

The Underside
I managed to get the underside of the third jellyfish finished this week. It covers nearly as much area as the top.

Taking the Fifth
I started the fifth part of the German Group Mystery this week and moved it down below the other set of "flowers". I did this because the first part of the chart didn't indicate where it was, so I started in the middle. It was actually the bottom row, so to ensure I have room for the whole design, I'm moving the interstitial motifs to the bottom.

An Exchange Start
The Brooke's Books Interactive group on Yahoo is having a spring exchange, and I am participating. Here's the start of my exchange piece. It's got no cross stitch, but is mainly satin and Algerian eye stitches.

Flying Away
When they were here in January, I promised Andreas' parents that I'd make them this temari. They picked out the pattern and the main variegated thread. I think it came out pretty well. It's in the mail on the way to them.

Backstage at Carnaval - February 28th, 2010 - Part 1
After they perform, the groups thread their way through the crowd and then gather behind the stage, where they change and pack up. They do most of this out in the open, and don't mind getting their pictures taken. This post is the first part of a bunch of backstage shots. It gives you more of a feel for the venue, too.

C1080 - February 28, 2010 - Part 2 - Carnaval
Here's the second half of the C1080 performance pictures. What you see here is part of their studio theme, and I think it was neat that they actually had the mammies and the pappies change costume and do something other than shuffle around the stage.
Dancing girls, of course.
And what's a movie lot without Tarzan?
This part was rather disturbing and never would have made it into a show in the US. The kid does come back ... the drummers chase the Klan away.
