Second Wing

I'm working on the second wing now, getting it a bit more filled in.  Slowly, I will get this done.

Another Crazy Finish

I did manage to finish this on the plane.  It's Just Nan's Happy Bluebird, and I didn't particularly like the charm in the middle.  I'll put something else there when I finish it into an ornament.  Slowly finishing off the old Crazy January lists.

Big Mistake

We were driving across Tennessee and it was time for lunch.  We didn't want fast food, so we went to Cracker Barrel, as we were in the middle of no where.  It was a big mistake.  The waitress was obviously at the end of her shift and not wanting to be there.  Our food was downright tawdry.  My open roast beef sandwich was supposed to have gravy on it.  Instead, it had just drippings.  The sandwich itself wasn't warm, either.  They managed to not mess up the cole slaw and okra, but that's it.  Getting ranch dressing from the waitress for the okra was a challenge, too.

Andreas' reuben was likewise unappetizing.  It was greasy and lukewarm.  Going to McDonald's would have been a better option.  Cracker Barrel's quality has fallen far downhill.

All The Fabric

I exhibited restraint this trip to the US.  This is all the fabric I bought during six weeks there.  It's not like I don't have a lot already.

Down To The Last

Getting more and more fence down, and I am now filling in the center garden square too.  This is the last piece from my Crazy January in 2011 that isn't done.  It'll be a big day when I finish it.

Up At The Top

I am working on the top edge now, then I'll just work down until it's done.  The photo doesn't show much of what I've done up there this time because the sampler's so big it's hard to take a photo of.

Can You Say Meat?

This assortment of delicious carne pleasure is what we ordered off the smoker at Cooper's in Llano on the way from Fredericksburg to Fort Worth.  Needless to say, the three of us had leftovers.  We had prime rib, ribs, turkey, chicken, and sausage.  My choice was the prime rib, and it was wonderful.  I had some chicken too, and it was moist and flavorful.  You buy the meat at Coopers, along with some sides and your drinks.  Then you get other sides for free (beans and such) and sit down to eat.  No plates - they use butcher paper instead.  I think this would be such a hit in Moldova if someone constructed it.
