New Group Project

My German stitching group has started a new project (again). Yes, it's the second of three! projects they've started this month. This one is called Zentangle and is designed by Elke Reiss. I have the complete outline of part one done and just neeed to fill in the middle with blackwork. I went waaaay outside my normal color choices on this, using a piece of Vikki Clayton's linen I had around and yet another mystery spool of hers. I like the way the colors go together.

Oh Meg, I am going to be watching out for more of this!! Have you heard of Zentangles before? Here's a link, in case you haven't (and you interested, LOL): http://zentangle.com
And there are lots of wonderful examples on Flickr:

I adore these "doodles", so I am fascinated to see one develop in embroidery. What an amazing variety of things you do in your stitching group.

Meg, this is very unusual and I went and checked out the zentangles! This looks like it could be addictive. Question for you: Are you working this in hand?
I will be watching this with interest!

Thank you all. It's a pretty intricate flower; she showed us her model, which she did in black and white. She also showed us the zentangle site. That's what got her interested in doing one. The German group does get a lot of interesting designs, but some I just have to pass on - like the set of 24 cows of different themes. As for working in hand, I rarely do. Mainly, as in this case, I use my trusty q-snaps. I like the tautness when I stitch.
